Jorma Eloranta to be Chairman of Gasum’s Supervisory Board

 The Chairman of Gasum Oy’s Supervisory Board is changing. In its meeting held on Tuesday 20 May 2008, Gasum’s Annual General Meeting elected Jorma Eloranta as the new Chairman.

Jorma Eloranta has been Metso’s President and CEO since 2004; before that he was a President and CEO of Kvaerner Masa-Yards and Patria Industries as well as a Deputy Chief Executive of the Finvest Group and Jaakko Pöyry Group. Eloranta is the Chairman of the Advisory Board of Excellence Finland and a Board Member of the Finnish Federation of Technology Industries.

The former Chairman of Gasum’s Supervisory Board, Counsellor of Mining Mikko Kivimäki LLM, served in the position since 2005.

Achim Saul of E.ON Ruhrgas was appointed to replace Stephan Kamphues. Vice chairman of the Supervisory Board Taisto Turunen, Director General at the Ministry of Employment and the Economy , Marcus Söhrich of E.ON Ruhrgas, Timo Karttinen and Seppo Aho of Fortum as well as Sergei Emeliyanov and Stanislav Tsigankov of Gazprom will continue as members of the Supervisory Board.

The Annual General Meeting adopted the financial statements for 2007 and discharged the members of the Board of Directors and the Supervisory Board and the company’s CEO from liability for the 2007 financial year. The Gasum Group’s net sales for the year 2007 totalled EUR 852.1 million. The balance sheet total was EUR 634 million and the equity ratio was 61.2%. The profit for the financial year was EUR 66.6 million. The Annual General Meeting approved the payment of dividends recommended by the Board of Directors in the amount of EUR 0.90 per share.
