Gas filling station for cars and heavy-duty vehicles to open in Vantaa in summer 2017

A gas filling station for cars, commercial vehicles as well as heavy-duty vehicles opens in Tulkintie, Vantaa, in summer 2017. The precise date will be known once progress is made in construction work.

Summer 2017 will see the opening of several new filling stations to respond to the increasing demand for road fuel gas in areas such as Pori, Hämeenlinna, Vantaa (Petikko) and Jyväskylä. The new filling stations will mainly focus on the Helsinki Metropolitan Area and transport nodes.

New Tulkintie station to serve cars as well as heavy-duty vehicles

Compressed natural gas (CNG) and biogas (CBG) will be available from Vantaa’s Tulkintie station to fuel cars, delivery vehicles, waste management vehicles and buses. The station will also serve heavy-duty vehicles by offering liquefied natural gas and biogas (LNG/LBG) as a choice of fuel. Summer 2017 will also see the opening of the Jyväskylä filling station that will also serve the needs of cars and well as heavy-duty vehicles in the same way as Vantaa's Tulkintie station.

Gasum has been granted Connecting Europe Facility support to explore the opportunities to construct an LNG/LCNG refueling station network and to the deployment of four pilot stations. Last year, pilot stations were opened by Gasum at Helsinki’s Vuosaari Harbor and close to the Port of Turku.

New gas filling stations in 2017

Gasum is strongly committed to the development of gas vehicle use and will construct 35 new filling stations over the coming years. The following filling stations open in summer 2017:

Hämeenlinna: Paroistentie 2
Vantaa Petikko: Klinkkerikaari 1
Pori: Maamiehenkatu 2
Jyväskylä: Metsälehmuksentie 9, LNG fueling also for heavy-duty vehicles
Vantaa: Tulkintie, LNG fueling also for heavy-duty vehicles

Several other stations are also being planned for areas including the Helsinki Metropolitan Area, Turku, Jyväskylä, Oulu and Lahti. There are currently 28 gas filling stations in Finland.

Fill up on gas at fixed monthly price

Gasum’s special campaign for private customers offers fuel for a fixed monthly price. Those getting a gas car only pay €89 a month for 100% Finnish and renewable biogas and €69 a month for natural gas during the 18-month campaign period at Gasum filling stations. The campaign is aimed at new and current customers who buy or import a gas-fueled car during the campaign period. The campaign offer can be utilized until June 30, 2017.
