Gasum is reforming its enterprise resource planning (ERP) system with Digia and adopting the cloud-based Microsoft Dynamics 365 solution. The system reform will improve Gasum’s opportunities to respond to the challenges brought about by the transformation of the energy sector and digitalization and develop its business in line with its strategy.
Gasum and Digia signed an agreement on the supply of the Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP solution on September 27, 2017. The new system will be taken into use in Gasum’s business areas in Finland, Sweden and Norway. The system covers enterprise resource planning, financial administration, customer relationship management, logistics management and maintenance solutions. The system launch is due to take place in January 2018.
Gasum’s previous ERP system involved a lot of tailoring that no longer served Gasum’s business needs.
”The new D365 system helps minimize tailoring and the aim is for functions to be mainly based on the system’s standard processes and functions. This provides us with a cost-efficient and more agile system,” says Gasum CIO Pertti Norjos.
Linking of the metering system with the ERP system will also take place as part of the solution. This means that all of the required measurement data from, for example, Gasum’s gas terminals can be input into the ERP system.
