Business Administration student, Saija Toikka, joined Gasum’s customer service team at the end of the spring 2021. After a summer spent at the office, Saija is planning to continue her studies at XAMK University of Applied Sciences. The beginning third year is Saija’s last before her graduation.
“Interest towards the energy sector got me to apply for the job. Prior to this, I have gained experience in the finance sector and branching out to a completely new field inspired me”, says Saija.
According to Saija, days at the customer service team are very versatile as the tasks range from answering emails and phone calls to granting Gasum GasCards. When questions are asked by both consumer and corporate customers, the customer service agent needs heaps of information and understanding on the everyday of the business. Saija tells, that with the help of her colleagues she has managed to steer even through tough situations.
“Not once during the summer I’ve experienced a feeling of not wanting to start my workday. I can only thank my wonderful colleagues for this – they have truly been the spice of this job. It has been great to notice that the work community has accepted me with open arms”, says Saija.
According to Saija, the fact that Gasum works for a cleaner future has also made the summer job meaningful for her:
"It has also been important to me to work in a company whose business and whose mission I will gladly promote.”
