Stig Sagevik: Inspired by clean energy

Stig Sagevik joined Gasum as a logistics manager. Every day, he is inspired by the different tasks his work brings as well as Gasum’s goal to develop a Nordic gas ecosystem purposefully and responsibly.

What is your educational background?

I have a bachelor’s degree in logistics and finance from the University of Bergen in Norway. During my time at the university, I also studied computer engineering for a year. I graduated in 2002.

How did you end up working for Gasum?

After finishing my studies, I worked in different companies in various logistics and managerial roles. Around 2015, I was contacted by Gasum. They asked if I would be interested in the position of a logistics manager – and I was. The timing was perfect to begin working for Gasum for me because I finished my last project at my previous job on a Friday and on the following Monday, I began working at energy company Gasum.

How has Gasum helped you grow in your current role?

As a logistics manager, I have been very lucky to take part in different leadership trainings. I’ve participated in other internal trainings as well. I believe these have definitely helped me grow in my role. In addition, my superiors have always supported me and encouraged me to develop my skills and know-how.

What would people find surprising about working at Gasum?

When working at Gasum, each day is different. My team is responsible for delivering cleaner energy liquefied natural gas (LNG) to all our customers in the Nordics and making sure they have enough LNG for all their needs. This brings new challenges that we are excited to solve and keep our customers happy. It’s demanding and extremely rewarding work. It also makes me inspired to go to work every day because I know that each day will bring something new.
