Gasum invites students to collaborate on mapping out the future of energy use in maritime transportation.
Gasum is joining the Intelligence Hunt program of the SeaFocus maritime and supply chain business network. Intelligence Hunt helps the shipping and supply chain industries find young talent. At the same time, the aim is to promote these industries as attractive working environments with interesting and variable career paths to offer.
Gasum is inviting students to participate in a case competition to examine the future of the maritime transportation segment from an energy use perspective.
The shipping industry has a vital role in a net zero carbon future. In response to the Paris Climate Accord, the International Maritime Organisation has set ambitious goals of halving greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, compared to 2008, while at the same time reducing carbon dioxide emissions intensity by 40% by 2030 and 70% by 2050. Students are expected to introduce themselves to the the bunkering market and analyze how the regulatory and other changes will impact the market and bunkering customer decision-making.
By engaging students in the project, Gasum is looking for fresh ideas for developing a future bunker market offering. As a leading LNG bunker market player in Northern Europe, Gasum has a profound interest in developing future talent for the maritime market by offering students an opportunity to learn about maritime emission reduction alternatives and future maritime fuels and get their views on future success factors.
Application period for the project will open soon. Read more about SeaFocus, Intelligence Hunt and Gasum’s project on SeaFocus’ website.
