“When I started my journey with Gasum in the 1980s, our focus was natural gas, which was praised among fossil fuels. But with time, the concept of sustainability evolved significantly. About a decade ago, Gasum shifted strategy towards more renewable fuels to provide even better solutions for our customers, marking an important milestone for us. This shift showed a stronger commit-ment to sustainability. Personally, I've seen and embraced the changes in the energy market. Now, I find joy in guiding businesses towards cleaner energy, in order to make a difference for the generations to come. It's an exciting time with opportunities for positive change, and I'm privileged to be a part of it.”

Ongoing projects for cleaner energy

Our biogas production

Gasum is one of the largest producers of biogas in the Nordics and continuously upgrade and develop new biogas capacity. We own and operate several biogas plants in Finland and Sweden. 

Our partners’ biogas production

Gasum is dedicated to procuring more renewable gas to satisfy the increasing demand for sustainable energy. This is a crucial part of our target of bringing 7 TWh biogas to the market by 2027. A large portion of this volume relies on establishing long-term partnerships with trusted biogas producers throughout Europe.

E-methane

E-methane is a renewable and synthetic gas, fully interchangeable with natural gas and biogas. It can be can be produced through the Power-to-Gas process. Gasum’s collaboration with Nordic Ren Gas means that synthetic methane can be delivered already by 2027.

Filling station network expansion
