Gasum awarded gold medal in EcoVadis sustainability assessment
Climate reporting is being further developed already this year. Improvements in procurement practices were shown in the assessment results.
Gasum has received a gold medal in the latest EcoVadis sustainability assessment. The assessment is primarily based on figures and data reported for the year 2024.
The result places Gasum within the top 5% of over 150,000 companies assessed by EcoVadis. The assessment criteria are continuously tightened as the demands on corporate sustainability evolve.
Climate reporting to be enhanced
Although Gasum has already made progress with a variety of activities related to climate change, the assessment identified climate work as an area for further enhancement. EcoVadis recommends having clear and comprehensive climate targets that cover the entire value chain, along with transparent emissions reporting and third-party assurance.
Gasum is strengthening reporting on climate already this year, as all its value chain emissions will be assured for the first time by Deloitte as part of sustainability reporting for the year 2025. Gasum’s sustainability report is prepared in accordance with the CSRD directive and will be published in March 2026.
Procurement improved significantly
At the same time, Gasum’s results showed significant improvements in procurement processes, where the score increased the most compared to the previous assessment. This reflects the progress made in responsible sourcing.
EcoVadis places value not only on supplier reviews but also on supplier audits, as well as on training buyers in sustainable procurement practices. Gasum continues to develop its supplier assessment processes in 2026.
