Commitments

Gasum is committed to several international agreements. We support the principles stated in the international frameworks concerning human and labor rights, i.e. the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGP), the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, and the ILO Core Conventions on Labour Standards.

We promote the UN Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The SDGs most relevant to Gasum are Goal 7 (Affordable and cleaner energy), Goal 8 (Decent work and economic growth), Goal 9 (Industry, innovation and infrastructure), Goal 11 (Sustainable cities and communities), Goal 12 (Responsible consumption and production) and Goal 13 (Climate action).

We are a signatory of the UN Global Compact corporate responsibility initiative and its ten principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption.

Gasum’s Baltic Sea Commitment focuses on BSAG’s Ship Waste Action and implementing the learnings and results of the initiative into Gasum’s own operations. Gasum contributes to the Ship Waste Action in the role of a processor for ship generated wastewaters and wastes, biogas producer and a fuel supplier for maritime transport.
